Stop #1 - Nashville!

Our first stop was Nashville, TN. Overall, it was a smooth drive and Nathan has been a wonderful traveler thus far.  We have been a bit apprehensive due to our horrible trip from Norfolk to Greensboro.  A trip that normally takes about 3 ½ hours but due to Nathan deciding he wasn’t in the mood to travel, it took us around 6.  However, he has been great!  He isn’t thrilled about hanging out in the back seat by himself so David has been driving, and I have been a three-ring circus of entertainment in the back.  We had a very yummy but interesting dinner at a southern restaurant called Monell’s.  We didn’t realize it was a family style restaurant where they seat you at a large table full of other diners and pile your table full of food to be shared. It led to a slightly awkward but memorable dinner.  It was just us and two other men at the end of a huge table in an almost empty restaurant.  They were nice but incredibly smart and nerdy IRS auditors.  Let’s just say, we had quite the dinner conversation.
We decided to walk off our fried chicken dinner by checking out downtown Nashville.  It did not disappoint.  The live music was amazing.  There is so much talent there!  We loved all the neon lights and the country music pouring from a fabulous assortment of open air honky tonks along Broadway. We decided that bar hopping the honky tonks would be frowned upon with a baby in tow, so Nashville has gone on the list of getaways in which we leave the kids with the grandparents, when we return from our west coast adventure. See you in a few years, Nashville!
Exploring Broadway!

We loved all the live music!

If you looked up over-stimulated in the dictionary, you would see this picture.
